Rocklyn Springs Farm began in 2011, when Jay and Sara-Lynn bought the property with little more than a piece of land and a vision for what it could become.

At the time, there was very little here. Over the years, they built the farm from the ground up — including the barn, fencing, infrastructure, and everything else needed to turn an empty property into a working farm. Alongside building the farm, Jay and Sara-Lynn have also spent their careers working in their chiropractic and massage therapy clinic in Waterloo.

It has always been a family effort. What started as a piece of land has slowly become a place where each of us has found our own way to contribute.

Hannah eventually made her way back to the farm, bringing a background in agriculture and a growing interest in building something of her own. After studying agriculture at the University of Guelph and spending time working on farms in Ontario, New Zealand, and Australia, she returned home and began taking a more active role in the farm. Today, she is focused on growing the farm, developing new products, and finding better ways to connect the work happening here with the people who eat our food.

Her sister, Cayla brings a different perspective to the farm, contributing through her academic research and interest in the science behind agriculture and the land.

Annika, still in high school, can often be found helping wherever she is needed — because on a family farm, there is always something that needs doing.

Rocklyn Springs Farm | The Family, Jay and Sara-Lynn

No story about Rocklyn Springs would be complete without Sara. Her garden is a reflection of the care and hard work she brings to everything she does, providing food, beauty, and plenty to share with our family and many others.

She is also the biggest driver of ideas, encouragement, and support around the farm — always ready with a new idea, a helping hand, or a reminder to keep going.

Much of what makes this place feel like home comes from her. The past year has also brought a significant change to our family with the passing of our dad, Jay. His years of hard work helped build the foundation of both our family and this farm, and his influence remains woven into the place we continue to build.

Today, Rocklyn Springs is a family-run farm focused on raising good food, caring for the land, and building something that can continue for generations. We raise our animals with an emphasis on pasture, good management, and quality feed, while continuing to learn and improve how we farm.

There is still a lot to build, and that's part of what makes this place special. Rocklyn Springs is a work in progress — a family farm built slowly, intentionally, and together.
